3 NEW Revolution CT Scanners / High Definition, Low Dose

Southwest Diagnostic Imaging Center in Dallas, Texas is pleased to announce that we have acquired a three (3) Revolution* CT systems from GE Healthcare as part of our continuing effort to provide advanced technologies for our patients.  Patient anxiety may be reduced with 50% quieter scanning, soft ambient lighting, personalized gantry displays, and a relaxing visual pattern inside the bore.  The bore is 80 cm wide, comfortably accommodating large patients.  Our Revolution CT scanners also come equipped with ASiR-V*, GE’s next generation of low dose iterative reconstruction technology that routinely reduces dose up to 82% with the same image quality. 1

Revolution CT scanners deliver high definition imaging across the entire body, helping your physicians make a confident diagnosis across all applications including:

  • Cardiac exams in a single heartbeat, with or without beta blockers
  • Whole brain imaging in less than a second
  • Low dose, whole organ diagnosis and follow-up for oncology patients
  • Detailed bone imaging, even for patients with metal implants
  • Sedation-free and low dose scans for pediatric patients

We will begin scanning patients on our first Revolution CT scanner September 29, 2014. Our second CT scanner will be installed in November 2014 while the third scanner is currently scheduled for December 2014.

1 In clinical practice, the use of ASiR-V may reduce CT patient dose depending on the clinical task, patient size, anatomical location and clinical practice. A consultation with a radiologist and a physicist should be made to determine the appropriate dose to obtain diagnostic image quality for the particular clinical task.

Erica B. / Scheduling

Erica received an unsolicited recognition from a fellow team member for staying to assist the team when we had calls holding in queue at the end of her business day, instead of leaving automatically because her scheduled shift was over.  Erica is an employee that as a Supervisor we value the fact we can rely on her being on time to open the scheduling phones each day.  She has assisted the team with late coverage due to staffing issues.  Erica has received two different written acknowledgments from patients about her pleasant helpful interaction while on the phone.  One email came from the VP, Payor Relations and Contracting at THR.  She has also been identified by two other team members for being a detail oriented, accurate logger, who staff  repeatedly go to each day to handle time sensitive logging and who continues to receive additional batches of logging throughout the day.  They have both stated she doesn’t stop at her required minimum of 15 daily requisitions. Her overall superior professionalism is demonstrated daily by her timeliness, work ethic on and off the phone, and her continued willingness to assist our patients.
